New York Elementary’s Annual MLK Chili Feed
Tuesday, January 17th, from 5-7pm
In the New York School gym and cafeteria
All friends, family, neighbors are welcome. This is an all community event!
A free will cash donation will be collected at the door.
Chili (both meat and vegetarian), with sides, drinks, and desserts will be served. Our wonderful neighbors at St Luke AME Church will perform, and we’re hoping our dear Kitchen Manager Rauna McCoy will be our special guest. This will be Rauna’s 25th year attending, volunteering, and working for the Chili Feed!
What you can bring:
Students of New York are asked to contribute an item to the Chili Feed, and to bring that item to school the day of, Tuesday January 17th.
- Kindergarten and 1st: carrot and celery sticks, for sides
- 2nd and 3rd: shredded cheese for topping
- 4th and 5th: saltine crackers, for sides
Students, families, friends, and neighbors can bring:
Anyone can bring desserts to contribute. Bars, cookies, slices of pie or cake, anything easily portioned would be great. Those contributions can be brought to the school anytime during the school day Tuesday January 17th. Just ask at the office! If anyone would like to contribute vegetarian chili, that would be welcome too!
*New this year*
We find our school clothing room is spare on coats. If you have any youth winter coats you’re getting rid of, please bring them with you to the Chili Feed. All sizes, all genders needed. We’re ok on gloves and hats and other winter gear, just missing coats. We’ll wash your donated coat and store it in the clothing room for next time someone forgets or doesn’t have a coat and they need one to go outside for recess.
